Spain's museum of modern and contemporary art — a sprawling collection running from the late 19th century to today. Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza

The Thyssen fills the gaps left by the other two. Nearly 1,000 works trace Western painting from the 13th-century Italian primitives through the German Renaissance, Dutch masters, American 19th-century painting, Impressionism, German Expressionism and Russian Constructivism. If you only have half a day for Madrid's art, many first-time visitors say this is the museum they enjoyed most.

A note before you book

Three museums is a lot of art

The Prado alone has close to a thousand paintings on display. The most common visitor regret in reviews isn't about the ticket — it's about trying to do all three museums in one day and running out of energy. That's why the one-year validity matters: split the visits across two or three days, or across two trips.

Prado swaps voucher for a printed ticket

At the Prado you exchange the GetYourGuide QR code for a physical ticket at a dedicated counter before entering — the counter is separate from the main queue, but it does add a couple of minutes. At the Reina Sofía and Thyssen you scan the QR straight at the door.

A bit cheaper direct at the museums

Do I need to visit all three museums on the same day?
No — and you probably shouldn't. The pass is valid for one full year from the date of purchase. Each museum can easily fill a half-day, so most visitors spread the three across two or three days.
How much do I save with the pass?
The three individual adult tickets add up to €41 (Prado €15, Reina Sofía €12, Thyssen €14). The Paseo del Arte Card at €32.80 saves you around €8 — the roughly 20% discount the museums advertise.

Yes. The three names refer to the same product — the official combined ticket for the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen. "Paseo del Arte" (Art Walk) is the tourism-board name for the boulevard on which the three museums sit.
Are all three museums open every day?
Almost. The Prado is closed on Mondays. The Reina Sofía is closed on Tuesdays. The Thyssen is open every day but only partially open on Mondays (12:00–16:00, permanent collection only). Plan around those.
How is the ticket delivered — do I need to print it?
